The New ARGUS XT and its brother MT are the latest products just released on the market by VOOPOO. A company that, as you know, jumped onto the scene a few years ago from scratch and achieved instant popularity with its debut feature, the DRAG. Since then, I have reviewed some of their products and although almost all of them have had some success, they have also had ups and downs and in my opinion they have overused refried foods, but much, too much pure fried food.
Today, we will see the ARGUS XT, there are 2 versions of ARGUS whose main difference between them is that the MT has a built-in 3000 mAh battery, while the XT comes without a battery and is compatible with 21700, 20700 and 18650 batteries (the 18650 will fit with the included adapter).
The XT has a nominal and unreal power of up to 100 Watts and they have different power output modes and even have a CT. In addition, as an added value it has an IP68 classification. The ARGUS is a bit of fresh air between so much VOOPOORIANO rehash and although in the MOD's I think that almost everything is already invented, they resort to the classic and always successful metal-imitation leather design to achieve a striking and elegant appearance. Did you find the intro interesting? Well, let's go without delay to Scan-near it ;-)

EL MOD ARGUS XT:
The Packaging is in this case remarkable for its elegant and reusable metal box that is really very pretty and covered with a removable cardboard band. You can see the photos above. In the sash is where all the specific data of the mod is located and of course the authenticity label. The appearance is remarkable and very elegant, once we open it we find the Mod very well protected and with a single box that includes the USB cable that is flat type, the battery adapter comes inside the Mod itself.
The Mod already in hand feels quite light and with a very good appearance, the finishes are very good and being a Product with IP68 certification it does not seem so at all, this being an important added value for me, although I really doubt that with the protections Views are a real IP68, but it really looks like a fine, elegant Mod with excellent finishes.
In my model, which is Silver-Grey, they have played with a very successful combination of textures that go from matte silver to nickel plating and with a combination of simile gray and green on the sides and back, really nice.
Its body is made of zinc alloy and the side-back padding is semi-hard, but comfortable and pleasant to the touch. It fits very well in the hand and makes it a very comfortable Mod in the hand because the size is quite contained and the trigger button is well located.
In the upper part, there is a good head with a floating pin that admits Atomizers of up to a maximum of 25 mm without flying due to not being completely flat, since around it there is a raised rim that also includes a handle for if we want to hang it in some way... around the neck, I don't see it...
Another thing to highlight and that I really like is that not a single screw can be seen in the entire product, neither in the head nor in the base nor on the sides either, and this is not easy to achieve in high-volume product designs.
The quality of the paint looks quite good, although with only a week of use I have not been able to check it more thoroughly, chrome and imitation leather look durable.
In its lower part, a classic hinged cover with a pin that works really well and I don't see it going to fail, although this is never known after months of use...what I am going to tell you is that it does not have ventilation holes due to IP68 some. On the table it sits well, but we all know that especially single battery mods with a light tap can easily tip over.
The battery housing is internally made of plastic (insulating) and can house the 3 most common types of batteries, 18650, 20700 and 21700 I see it as very correct and totally free of marring, marked with a - at the bottom and a rubber seal that makes it watertight, everything is isolated and watertight.
Already in the front part, we find if we go from top to bottom a lever selector with 3 positions that I liked a lot and is one of the most differential characteristics of this Mod. In its left position we will have the Mod on but with the fire button and those of +/- totally canceled, in its central position we will have all the operative buttons and if we place it in its right part we will have the operative firing button but with the +/- buttons canceled.
The trigger button is comfortable and clicks a little, it has a good touch, although on occasions it has given me a false puff. Below is the color screen that looks good and is quite bright, as well as the 2 classic +/- buttons, all of them with a good touch and made of Plastic, and at the base the USB-C port is hidden behind a door (which shakes a little if you shake it) to increase the sealing, but it is remarkable that it charges the MOD at 3A if the source that powers it delivers them, of course.
The Chip it mounts is from the well-known own range GENE in its newest version (TT2.0) and it works well, although do not think that its configuration possibilities are very high, lately it seems that the minimalism of performance is the most sought after by manufacturers. Simultaneously pressing the +/- buttons we will access its few configuration possibilities that consist of the output modes:
SMART
RBA
TURBO
CT
Reset puffs
Screen brightness adjustment
Display time on after puff
Chip and firmware information
This is all "adjustable", to note that it does not have an output mode by Volts or any type of memory for output curves.
MY PERSONAL CONCLUSIONS:
It is a Mod that transmits solidity, elegance and that works very well, it has really remarkable finishes, but it is not perfect as I will reflect below. In hand it is very comfortable, and with a very contained weight, it does not disappoint life.
I think that this chip could have gotten more performance and benefits, but we have been in the era of "minimalism" in performance for a long time, it seems that all manufacturers have agreed to make the electronics as simple and possible basics, forgetting that apart from novice vapers, there are also experts who DO know what to do with those missing "features".
If it works, it works well, however, I also appreciate some shortcomings as you will see below, in the negative section.
In my opinion, it is a recommended purchase if you liked what you have read before.
In the POSITIVE section I would highlight:
Good design, quality of materials, finishes, adjustments and paint
good head
Handle to hang it well made and that does not bother if you do not use it
I liked the lever selector "QS" to cancel buttons
Easy and convenient battery replacement
Fast effective electronics and with very good navigation and functionality
Firmware Upgradeable
Very fast in power delivery
USB type “C” and with fast charge at 3A
Degree of tightness IP68
comfortable and ergonomic
In the TO IMPROVE section I would highlight:
It does not have an output mode by Volts (subjective)
Lacking the indication of Amperage on the screen (subjective)
The characters on the screen such as volts, puffs, etc. are tiny, it is not necessary to occupy half the screen with the W
Not usable while in charge mode (passthrough)
The different output modes do not offer significant changes
Slight rattling of the USB cap
