► Vaporesso Target 200 iTank 2 Edition; First Impressions:
Vaporesso TARGET 200 Mod has been aesthetically updated with new materials but also with an updated firmware and a new Tank . The Kit adopts the new iTank 2 atomizer which uses the latest generation anti-leak GTX coils . Considering that it is a device with dual 18650 external batteries I find the Mod to be incredibly ergonomic and compact. Vaporesso claims that the Target 200 Mod is approximately 16% smaller than competing dual battery devices.
The generous shape of the bottom of the Mod contributes admirably to keeping the device firmly in a vertical position even during charging. The opening door in conjunction with the mod ensures correct safety venting in the event of battery malfunction.
The opening system on the bottom is a slide and the closure is interlocking. A simple and effective system. You can insert two 18650 cells following the polarity indications on the inside of the door.
Three torx screws hold the Cup to the Mod. The 510 pin is spring loaded and is gold/plated. The TARGET 200 steel cup is raised and has a diameter of 25mm, this allows the use of several medium/large aftermarket tanks without causing scratches on the mod or unsightly protrusions.
I received the "Navy Blue" color version for this test. The side panels have been enriched with soft eco-leather cushions. The leather material has been applied to make the product more durable for outdoor use and at the same time more comfortable in the user's hands.
The frame of the mod is made of zinc alloy. The rear part houses a central metal bar bearing the writing "Vaporesso" arranged vertically, at the top there is a T6 screw. The handle is rather comfortable because from a rounded lateral section you pass to a rear profile of very small dimensions for a Dual Battery Mod. All this aids grip.
The front part of Target 200 is well connected and is almost entirely covered by a dark screen which includes 4 circular buttons.
The top button (the largest) is the Fire button. Below the display there are the Up/Down adjustment buttons + the (very convenient) "mode" button to quickly enter the menu. Below is the Type-C charging. The TFT screen layout uses many colors. The user interface with additional features is revamped and uses easy-to-read fonts. The display shows the following information; battery bar, set power, Wattage, Voltage, Bypass), power mode, Ohm , Volt, puff counter, last puff duration.
► Operation guide:
• Turning on/off: 5 clicks on the Fire button
• Screen lock/unlock: Press the Fire button 3 times
• After connecting the Type-C cable to the Mod, the battery indicator indicates the percentage of charge and the remaining time
• Access to the menu is done by holding down the "menu" button until the mode starts flashing, using the "+" and "-" adjustment buttons you can switch to other desired power modes, to confirm press the Fire button or wait 5 seconds • To access the
settings complete, press the "menu" button 3 times, once inside, use the "+" and "-" adjustment buttons to adjust the various parameters. To confirm, press the menu button.
• Axon Chip Includes protections: Low/High Resistance, Overheating, Short Circuit, Overload/Overdischarge.
• F(t) Mode
This mode automatically adjusts the best temperature, speed and heating time of the resistance. According to Vaporesso the F(t) mode adequately releases the flavors of the liquid and offers a perfectly balanced tasting experience consistently from the first puff.
• PUL (Pulse Mode)
It is a mode designed by Vaporesso to improve the vaping experience through constant voltage output. It is stated; an increase in flavor, a maximized perception of nicotine with a great Hit, and a vapor with a perfect and constant temperature.
• DIY mode
In this section it is possible to choose and set three power levels ( VW ) Soft, Normal, High. You can also set the VV supply from 0 to 9V, or the BP (Bypass) mode
• Smart function The very useful Smart function reads the resistance of the coil you are using
after being activated, automatically setting the power to an appropriate wattage.
► Vaporesso iTank 2 Edition; The iTank-2 tank has been recently renewed and derives from the original iTank awarded by vaping360.com as the best Sub- Ohm
atomizer of 2022.
Mainly I noticed the good construction quality of this tank which is solid and well finished and can be easily dismantled for cleaning. Included in this kit is a domed glass to increase the e-juice capacity from 4 to 8ml.
One of the main innovations of iTank-2 is represented by a new filling method which consists of a convenient button to press. The spring inside the mechanism forcefully snaps the top cap to the side. The engraving of a "red reference dot" in the Top-Cap indicates where the opening button is located. The filling port is protected by a silicone membrane to avoid leakage problems.
iTank-2 uses a two-way adjustable AFC system called "Turbo Airflow" which guarantees a large air flow but also good puff shrinkage. The rotating bezel of the AFC is equipped with rotation stops and is applied very well to the base. The base adopts a self-circulation system of the electronic liquid, in practice the internal conformation facilitates the recirculation of the condensate to vaporize it again, reducing the loss on the bottom. The base must be unscrewed and separated from the Tank to insert the GTi coils from the bottom.
► Vaporesso Mesh Coil GTi and vaping test:
Vaporesso supplies two coils from the new GTi range with this tank, both suitable for DL type vaping .
• GTi Mesh Coil 0.2Ω (60-75 W):
Using the Smart coil function , the Axon chipset sets the power of this resistor to 55W by default, therefore 5W below the recommended range (60-75W). Operation is very smooth even at 55W with a good activation speed. I found my sweet spot at 65W with AFC wide open! A beast of a coilwhich projects us into a world made of dense clouds and excellent flavours. I was really impressed! However, I expected these excellent performances because I have always considered Vaporesso as the company capable of designing the best pre-packaged coils in the entire sector.
• 0.4Ω GTI Mesh Coil
(50-60 W): Using the Smart coil function, the Axon chipset sets the power of this resistor to 40W by default, therefore 10W below the recommended range (50-60W).
Compared to the previous one, this resistance provides a slightly narrower and less satisfying vape in terms of flavor. Also in this case the steam production is maximized. At 50W I found my "Best" in combination with an AFC opening of 3/4. In general, the 0.2Ω coil has an overall higher performance, as it should be. However, the 0.4Ω resistor allows for longer battery life.

I liked this entry-level kit, I didn't find any noteworthy defects and it really has many advantages. The dual 18650 batteryguarantees considerable vaping autonomy. The protective design of the Target 200 frame was designed for outdoor use without fear of drops, mistreatment or accidental impacts. The comfortable form factor conveys a good feeling to the user. The cage structure of the Target 200 is really well made to keep the dimensions of this device as low as possible compared to the 2 external battery mods of the competition, furthermore the weight that is felt in the hand is really bearable. As the vaping market matures, products are becoming more and more similar to each other, and to beat the competition Vaporesso has invested heavily in the research and development of innovative modes such as the F(t) mode or the pulse mode direct current (which Vaporesso was the first to introduce). As for the iTank-2 system, Vaporesso supported by its parent company SMOORE International, has set new standards of innovation in the industry. In fact, they were among the first brands to adopt watertight SSS technology. TheGTX coils complete the work because they are undoubtedly among the best pre-made resistors available on the market today.
