Freemax Maxus Solo 100W Kit

The Auguse Era is a rda completely made of 316 steel with dimensions of 22mm x 21mm (without drip tip) for a weight of about 45 grams.

Starting from the top we have the drip tip, equipped with a classic 510 attachment (therefore replaceable with any other drip tip according to our preferences) and can be disassembled into three parts, including a central sleeve in plastic material that acts as an additional protection against heat. This drip tip starts at the base with a hole about 6mm wide, higher than the "chimney" (or rather the top cap outlet hole), and then shrinks to a diameter of about 3.6 mm and widens again at the outlet up to to 4.5 mm. As you can see from the image (if you can read it), the tip is the same used on other Auguse atomizers, and in fact it has the writing "Auguse Era v2" at the base.

The top cap is divided into two parts, the one in the photo is the top and, as we can see, the attachment of the drip tip is not flat but curved. In this part the drip tip will never go to perfectly match going to the beat (obviously, since it has a flat base) and in this area condensation will tend to form which in any case is not annoying during the vape.

By turning the upper part of the top cap we can see what will then be the real sky of the "bell", made in steps. Two orings positioned around the bell will seal with the part of the top cap below.

By removing this upper part, it will also be possible to view the status and correct positioning of the coil , checking the airpin and being able to adjust them to the desired distance while maintaining a visual feedback.

The second section of the top cap, the one that will be positioned on the base, is equipped with a removable ring that will serve as an additional heat sink and will be fixed to the main body by screwing the airpins into their seats. This ring will also improve the aesthetics by avoiding to make the heads of the airpin in use come out and also allowing us to screw them more or less in order to obtain greater / lesser distance of these inserts from the coil . An interesting solution even if I personally didn't notice big aromatic differences by moving them.

Inside the bell we can see the two airpins, in fact this atomizer (which is very reminiscent of the fev bf1 as a constructive idea) is equipped with single/double lateral airflow depending on the airpin that we decide to install.

Auguse offers us a wide choice by providing us in the airpin package of various sizes suitable for both a very closed mtl vape up to a good flavor. The equipment also includes a blind pin that will allow us to take advantage of a single airflow but, as can be easily understood, not having double pins with the same hole in case of double airflow we will have to be content with using pins with different air holes, or buy a further one separately. set of airpin.

A detail that I greatly appreciated is to indicate with an inscription, even if very small, the size of each pin , a very convenient fact that will prevent us from freaking out to distinguish between inserts with very similar holes.

When you go to unscrew the inserts, the seal oring tends to escape, so be careful not to lose it.

Let's now see the deck consisting of 2 opposing turrets with 2 posts each for the coil . This configuration will allow us to mount resistors turned both in the classic direction for right-handed and opposite for left-handed. The tightening screws have a cross head that offers a good tightening of the wire, also facilitated by wire stops placed on the sides that limit its movement. On the sides of the atomizer we can also see two notches that will help us in the regeneration by allowing us to position the coil jig, automatically providing us with the correct height of the coil .

Regeneration is very easy, suitable for everyone, and given the geometry of the turrets it will be possible to position the wire both internally and externally to the turrets. This will allow us, if positioned externally, to obtain coils with more spaced turns, or to have more turns while maintaining an adequate distance between them. On the contrary, if the wire is turned internally, we will have coils with a shorter length and more joined coils.

Once the cotton has been positioned, just cut it taking the sides of the deck as a reference and place it in the special trays. Personally, once inserted and moistened, I prefer to distance it slightly from the sides of the deck, those where the coil jig invitations are present, to avoid that the wet cotton favors that the liquid ends up on the top of the deck.

From my tests I must say that this rda manages the heat well but, also given the distance of the coil from the top of the bell, I do not recommend using too thick wires even if the deck allows you to range between various coil configurations to adapt to liquids and airpin used.

The tray, as indicated by the store, has a depth of 5.7mm and allows you to contain a quantity of liquid that provides good autonomy, I would say about 1 ml in an estimate.

Finally, let's see the caseback in which the name of the product and the manufacturer and the serial number are present.

From the image, the pin used is the closed one which will allow us to use the Era rda as a dripper, but surely the most comfortable configuration will be the one with pin bf , which I then used for practically all my tests. On the pin bf there is little to say, the hole allows an adequate squonk and on the boxes on which I used this rda it has always behaved perfectly, going to the stop and avoiding that the liquid ends up in the cup. From the previous image, it can also be seen that this pin , remaining slightly raised from the deck, will make the liquid flow into the tanks preventing it from returning back into the bottle.

Both pins are protruding enough and well insulated to be used without problems on mechanical devices always taking into account those basic rules that we should all know if we decide to approach this type of vape.

FINAL CONSIDERATIONS

The Auguse era rda is a bf atomizer composed of a few pieces, easily removable and manageable, with a simple deck and suitable even for less experienced vapers. With its double airflow in my opinion it follows what is the trend of the moment, the “fev style” fashion, after all an atomizer that works well is often copied and therefore why not try it also in the world of the bottom feeder? For some time now I have almost completely set aside the bf , while recognizing its great convenience, limiting myself to the use of a single product… which is precisely the Fev Bf1. From this was born my curiosity to try the new Era ..

As I said earlier this atomizer has a simple and spacious deck, allows various types of regeneration and settings, and has a good autonomy of squonk. Probably also thanks to the stepped bell, the production of steam is abundant but its yield tends to dry at times and is also pungent. As with the Bf1, this rda behaves like an all-rounder by returning a clean aroma that does not excel on particular notes but returns what one expects to hear, however making some cuts on the blends and always remaining a step below the Bf1 (despite having yields different), with which I liked to compare it.

A very respectable behavior for a low cost product with multiple adjustments which, however, in my opinion, gives the best with medium-thin wires that do not increase the heat in the vaporization chamber too much and which has as a further point in favor an excellent shot, always fluid and linear, which expresses its best result in terms of aromatic and contrast with the single 1.2mm pin . Over time my habits have changed, I began to appreciate more airy types of shooting, and as regards the tobaccos that I would have previously only vaped with very closed airpins (<= 1.2mm), I noticed a greater aromatic yield settling precisely on the single hole 1.2mm which turns out to be the right compromise with my classic coilfrom 5/6 coils of ka1 28ga on tip of 2, starting point for each mtl atomizer that I decide to try (and which obviously allows it as a sensible choice) to then sum up and make corrections.

From light to dark, good results are obtained by varying threads and airiness according to taste, a greater influx of air, given by the two opposing pins , I recommend it only in case you want to vape tobaccos flavored with fruit or with creams, or pure creamy, where to switch to 27ga or why not, to a 26ga with which, however, I do not recommend more than 5 turns, it gives that extra edge, and at the same time requires more airiness to perform at its best.

Of all my tests, probably the only liquid that I did not like was latakia, one of my favorite tobaccos but with which I go a lot "in periods", and this is a moment in which I seek a more incensing and slightly oily, which I didn't get.

Lastly, as much as the coloring seems well done to me, my advice is always to choose "bare" steel products, to avoid any type of discoloration or problem.

These are my considerations, unfortunately I am aware that I do not have a fine palate that allows me to grasp the sensations that other vapers often describe, but based on my tastes and on the functioning that allows for variation depending on the settings, I can certainly say that this Era rda will not replace my beloved Bf1, but it will be there, ready to take its place in rotation, giving me satisfaction in those moments of the day when I continue to use the bottom feeder.
